This is the newest release from La Gloria Cubana. Actually the official release is not until the last week of August - we were fortunate enough to receive a few sticks to try. There were not enough sticks to go around and unfortunately I was not able to get one, but I made sure to pick the owners brain to get his opinion on the cigar.
So for a little background information. This is a Nicaraguan puro - which seems to be the trend lately. La Gloria is aiming to produce fuller bodied larger ring gage cigars and they really hit the nail on the head with this one! Three sizes will be released in this line; No 54 (6 x 54), No 60 (6 x 60), and No 64 ( 6 1/4 x 64).
According to Mike this was an absolutely amazing cigar. It has a dark oily wrapper with very few vein lines. The construction was impeccable with no soft spots and firm to the touch. He said this was a rich and complex smoke with notes of espresso and a deep finish. Maybe the reason I didn't get a cigar to smoke was because he smoked them all!!
According to Mike's opinion I would keep your eye out for this cigar's release. It is an amazing stick that must be tried!
We are having a release party on September the 5th at 8 to 8 cigars. Check out our website for more information: www.8to8cigars.net
