L'Atelier Extension de la Racine

Country of Origin: Esteli, Nicaragua
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Sun Grown Criollo
Binder: Sancti Spiritus
Filler: Cuban Seed Nicaraguan
Vitola: Toro
Length: 5 7/8 inches
Ring Gage: 52
Strength:  Medium to Full

The name of this cigar translates to "Extension of the Root" and it is referring to the fact that the Sancti Spiritus binder used is traditionally the wrapper used for the other L'Atelier lines.  This cigar is limited to the retailers who purchased from L'Atelier at the annual IPCPR show.

The cigar is a beautiful copper color.  There are very few vein lines and appears to have near perfect construction.  The cigar felt firm to the touch - it had no soft spots or imperfections. This is a very complex smoke and I noticed notes of pepper and spice with notes of nuts and earth, and almost a caramel sweet undertone to it.  This cigar showcased a perfect balance between the spice and sweetness.  Neither were overpowering but instead a perfect harmony between the two.

This was an extremely enjoyable complex, balanced, and yet very smooth smoke.  Definitely one that has made it to my every day smoke list.
