It is very
exciting that Jose Seijas is once again creating what he absolutely does best!
The reviving of an old iconic brand also added an extra level of specialness to
this project. The original Tabacalera la
Matilde Factory dates back to 1876 and having changed hands a couple of time
ultimately closed in 1910 – only to be opened by no other than Jose Seijas
himself! This is the first cigar to come out of this factory. As shown by the
quote above this has really been a labor of love for Mr. Seijas and I was very
excited to smoke one of these cigars!
The wrapper
is a beautiful golden honey color. Some slight vein lines are present does not
take away from the overall attractiveness of the cigar. This is a very
flavorful, complex, and robust cigar. There are definitely notes of earth and wood
along with some white pepper and spice. The cigar burned perfectly and was a
nice slow burn.
I was not disappointed
by the cigar and would highly recommend this to everyone!!
