The La Palina Goldie Cigar is personally rolled by Master Roller Maria Sierra.  No joke- she personally rolls every cigar.  This gives the Goldie a construction that very few cigars could rival.  Ms. Sierra is the first women ever to roll cigars in Cuba giving her an expertise that is matched by very few.

This is the second release from the Goldie Line, with the first release last year (Laguito No 2 a Petite Lancero) being a complete success.  This year’s release is the Laguito No. 5 which is a Robusto Extra.  They come packaged in boxes of 10.

This cigar has a gorgeous blond colored wrapper.  Obviously the construction is impeccable.  There are very few vein lines with a double cap and a pigtail.  It is firm to the touch with a good draw and an excellent burn.

I have to admit just how much this cigar impressed me.  I would say it is a mild to medium smoke, but it is one of the most flavorful mild smokes I have just about ever had.  It is very complex with notes of nuts and earth.  There is a sweetness and slight spiciness to it that completes each other quite well.  This is not a boring smoke and will keep you engaged from the moment you light to the moment you must put it down because it is gone!

After the success of last year’s release I have no doubt this year’s will be just as popular.  So get them while they are here – this is a limited release.
